Coach Don Stump Scholarship Fund

Dick Panther '60 and Patty (Service) Burns '60 are leading an effort, in partnership with the Captains and Co-Captains of the Ward High School Varsity Football Teams, to establish a Scholarship Fund to honor the legacy of Coach Don Stump.

His intensity was a blend of athletic competition with respect for authority, strong personal character, and a deep appreciation for work ethic based on pride of accomplishment in the classroom and on the field.
The results were life time benefits of self-confidence, scholarship, sportsmanship and citizenship. For this we should all give thanks!

With the Don Stump Scholarship Fund, the same values and life lessons will be passed on to deserving students attending Bishop Ward High School today and in the future. Coach Stump has agreed to participate in the selection process and to follow and support the students selected for this award throughout their development.

It is Important to Know
- Bishop Ward is on an upward swing in enrollment. The school needs financial resources to help attract and keep high caliber students intent on receiving a strong and important Catholic, college prep education.
- Currently 95% of Bishop Ward graduates go on to college
- The annual tuition is currently $6,900. Without the valued help of generous alumni, the cost would be approximately $8,200 per school year. Thus the importance of financial aid.

We are setting a minimum fundraising goal of $100,000. You may wish to give your gift now or spread your contribution over a period of two to five years.

If you need additional information or have any questions about the Don Stump Scholarship Fund, please don't hesitate to contact the Development Office at 913.371.6901.
